Livre
Edité par CERG. Strasbourg
The effects induces by earthquakes on the ground surface (e.g. landslides, fault scarps, ground fissures, land swelling, land subsidence) have caused tens of thousands of deaths and losses of property estimated in several thousand million dollars worldwide this century. In many cases , damage from earthquake-induced surface effects was greater than damage caused directly by earthquake shocks. This paper illustrates the results of multidisciplinary research project taking into account the following aspects : seismology, geology, hydrogeology. The investigations were carried out at regional and local scales and aimed to test a method for the identification of potentially unstable slopes in an area affected by earthquake-triggered landslides.
