This research was carried out in the context and with the financial support of the Council of Europe. In particular, it is part of the scientific activities of the CERG (European Centre of Geomorphological Hazards, Strasbourg), which, in turn, is part of the APO Major Hazards, a network under the auspices of the Council of Europe. The aim of the work was to achieve a better understanding of the influence of ground shaking on the activation of mass-movements and to develop a pratical methodology for the identification of those areas which were susceptible of seismically-induced slope failures.
