The OTEC site in French Polynesian Island (in front of Tahiti harbor) has been studied with the most performant tools used in modern marine geosciences (Multibeam echosounder, deep tow photography, deep submersible, side-scan sonar,...). The main objective of the SAR survey was a precise mapping of the boundaries between the major domains (basalts outcrops, sediment cover area, blocks, wrecks). The Seabeam data and the Cyana in situ observations were used to calibrate the side-scan image and to propose an interpretation.
